Tokyo – January 6, 2009 – GMO Internet Group company, GMO Research announces that Japan Marketing Intelligence (JMI) became a consolidated subsidiary on January 1, following the December 31 acquisition of 53% of the company’s shares.
Background to the Stock Acquisition GMO Research builds research solutions and platforms and provides online research infrastructure predominantly to domestic research companies while promoting online research in the domestic market.
JMI sells Japanese consumer market surveys to overseas research agencies. As a company that actively promotes research and implementation of the latest global research technology it can be considered a pioneer in Japan.
The acquisition of JMI stock will enable GMO Research to advance research technology in the Japanese market by introducing advanced JMI research methods to our own networks. At the same time GMO Research will leverage JMI’s strong international sales channels to create real research solutions, and platforms for the global marketplace.
